My hometown was completely removed from the world of fashion. So instead I was more inspired by a natural world. I had a very active imagination as a child, and I still do. I gravitated to clothes to use them as my vehicle for fantasy

Visual arts and liberal arts always play a role in the inspiration behind my collections. I often layer my research with images, text from literature and references from popular culture

Paris is a beautiful, inspiring world for me. It gave me the quiet and the insulation to find my own voice as a designer

How was your first show
My first show was exhilarating and terrifying at once. I was 24 years old and showing during the Haute Couture shows in Paris- I was very courageous to do it.
